I guess I've always been interested in photography; I graduated from UVic with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and later I graduated from the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts. But my "professional" title came after the creation of Glass Eye Studios (my commercial advertising photography business).

So, why the switch from advertising to pets?
It all began one summer's night in 2008, when a little Shar-Pei was born . . .

Since then, Chewbacca (aka "Chewy") has brought many smiles to my face. Whether he's seeking out clean socks, or high-five-in our house-guests, it's hard not to fall in love with Chewy.

I had found myself a new favorite photography subject, who could possibly resist those chubby wrinkles?! Pretty soon, my phone was ringing with calls from people who were asking me to photograph their pets, and in no time, AK Pet Photography was born.
